To extend Ace Hardware’s reputation for personalized service into the digital realm, we proposed Helpful Home, a digital experience allowing customers to get instant help with home maintenance. A mobile apps and FaceTime allowed for one-on-one interactions with store associates. Customers could also get answers from other customers, and could register for maintenance reminders.
This idea won the pitch, but for various reasons was not produced. Eight months later, Lowe’s Hardware launched the exact same idea.
